Labor Day Traditions

I love the tradition of Labor Day.

Before I moved to the United States, I was always intrigued by this American holiday which fell around the same time that kids returned to school. It felt like it was the perfect bookmark end to summer – a long weekend to celebrate together before work and school resumed.

As I learned more about the history of Labor Day and how it reflects American values of individual freedoms, equality, and fair treatment, I embraced it even more, and it has become a very special celebration for me and my family.

There is no reason vegans can’t eat with carnivores and vegetarians around the same picnic table. It’s all about personal choice and what’s best for each of us.
