Oil Free Low Fat Hummus with Pita Cracker

Low Fat Oil Free Hummus

You will not believe this is a low fat, oil free hummus!  The taste is out of this world

 

This Medical Medium friendly, vegan and gluten-free recipe is perfect for an after school snack paired with veggies, and makes a great appetizer when guests come over.

 

Ingredients:

2.5 cups chickpeas (I use Jovial)

2 Tbsp raw tahini

2 limes juiced

1 tsp cumin powder

2 tsp coconut aminos

2 cloves garlic

1/2 tsp paprika powder

1 cup ice-cold water

 

Directions:

Add all ingredients to the blender except the ice cold water. Then start the blend. 

 

Add a tablespoon of ice cold water at a time, until the hummus becomes fluffy and creamy. 

 

The cup of water is an estimate – depending on how moist your chickpeas are you may need less or more. Feel free to use discretion here.

Both versions of hummus are also excellent paired with my Za’atar Pita Cassava Crackers or my Garlic Maple Roaster Cauliflower!
