Green Pea Soup (100% Overt Fat Free)

This green pea soup has been instrumental in keeping me fat-free on a daily basis. I often pair it with air-fried, fat-free potatoes for an absolutely delicious and filling meal. Peas contain anti-inflammatory properties, they can be helpful when you are healing arthritis, COPD, heart disease, lupus, fibromyalgia, and bursitis.  

NOTE: All foods contain fat intrinsically. This soup is OVERT fat free in that it doesn’t contain any additional fat.

 

GREEN PEA SOUP

Ingredients:

  • 1 red onion
  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled & chopped
  • 2 bags frozen green peas
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Veggie Pepper (by Frontier Organic) to taste

Directions:

  1. In a  saucepan, add the onions and garlic and ¼ cup of water and cook until soft.
  2. Then add the frozen peas. Add another cup of water to cook the peas.
  3. Cook until all the peas are soft. Then use a hand blender to blend into soup. ENJOY!

    Ingredients

  1. Hi Muneeza,

    Can you tell me the size/weight of your bags of green peas? I just made this recipe and it’s good – but I’m sure I have way too many peas in it. The bags I get here (in Canada) are 750 grams which is over 1.6 pounds. I have a huge stock pot of this now so just plan to add more onions, garlic and water and then pop some in the freezer for the future. Thanks!

      1. Sorry for the delay in approving these comments and in posting my response. (Things have been BUSY here with lots happening.) As Aimée said, about 8 oz of peas works great in this recipe.
