Muneeza’s Spicy Tahini Cilantro Dressing

This Spicy Tahini Cilantro Dressing is fresh, light & delicious! Perfect dressing for spring & summer. Gluten, dairy free & soy free.

This Spicy Tahini Cilantro Dressing came from an inspiration at a restaurant where years ago I ate a yoghurt mint dressing. I wanted to create a dressing similar in taste and texture and in particular with the freshness of that dressing I had at a Lebanese restaurant years ago! This recipe is fresh, delicious and Medical Medium friendly.

Healing Properties of Cilantro, Sesame Seeds & Mint

If you don’t know, Tahini is the Arabic word for a paste made with sesame seeds. Roasted sesame seeds are use traditionally to make tahini paste in the Middle East.  This recipe uses raw tahini (paste made from raw sesame seeds) and in their raw form, the seeds have greater healing properties. Firstly, 1/4 cup of sesame seeds provide more calcium than 1 cup of milk! Secondly, they are a source of plant protein that is great for growth in children and in adults can help lower cholesterol and strengthen hormone production.

Cilantro is amazing for removing heavy metals from the body and mint is helpful for respiratory conditions and for settling the gut.

Ingredients:

4 tbsp raw tahini

1 clove raw garlic

1 tbsp raw honey

1/2 jalapeño, deseeded (or hot pepper of choice)

1/2 cup cilantro

1/4 cup mint

3/4 cup water

Sea salt optional and to taste

Directions:

Put all the ingredients into a blender cup and mix on high speed. If you need to thin out the dressing a bit more, add a little more water.

This Spicy Tahini Cilantro dressing works great on top of salads or my Baked Falafel recipe! One salad I love pairing it with is the Asian Slaw Salad.

This dressing is a staple at our house – loved by all.  I hope you enjoy it as well!

I am so glad you liked this one! I have been making this recipe for YEARS! It’s my go to and most favorite salad dressing and it keeps for about a week although it never lasts that long.
