This Spicy Tahini Cilantro Dressing came from an inspiration at a restaurant where years ago I ate a yoghurt mint dressing. I wanted to create a dressing similar in taste and texture and in particular with the freshness of that dressing I had at a Lebanese restaurant years ago! This recipe is fresh, delicious and Medical Medium friendly.
Healing Properties of Cilantro, Sesame Seeds & Mint
If you don’t know, Tahini is the Arabic word for a paste made with sesame seeds. Roasted sesame seeds are use traditionally to make tahini paste in the Middle East. This recipe uses raw tahini (paste made from raw sesame seeds) and in their raw form, the seeds have greater healing properties. Firstly, 1/4 cup of sesame seeds provide more calcium than 1 cup of milk! Secondly, they are a source of plant protein that is great for growth in children and in adults can help lower cholesterol and strengthen hormone production.
Cilantro is amazing for removing heavy metals from the body and mint is helpful for respiratory conditions and for settling the gut.
