Immune Booster Juice

With flu season upon us, I want to give you all a simple recipe that will give your immune system the boost it needs to protect you. My immune booster juice recipe is delicious and packed with healing foods that will do just that: oranges, ginger, celery, parsley, and lemon.

Oranges

Oranges have been dubbed the “perfect food” as they contain many different healing vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytonutrients. They are a great example of a healing food.

“Oranges have been known to help prevent cancer, lower high blood pressure, fight off viral infections, relieve constipation, keep bones and teeth strong, prevent kidney stones and macular degeneration.”
-Anthony William, Life-Changing Foods

They are beneficial to the digestive tract and help remove toxic build-up from the colon by enhancing peristaltic action. In addition, oranges are high in glutathione which is critical for liver health as well as healthy eye and lung function. Furthermore, they are very healing for respiratory and cardiovascular issues. Best of all, oranges serve as an internal antiseptic as they are able to purify and strengthen every organ in the body.

Ginger

Ginger contains potent anti-inflammatory compounds called gingerols that reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling. While ginger is a fantastic spice that naturally heals both inflammation and infection, ginger is best known for its incredible ability to heal digestive upset and nausea. For centuries, ginger has been used to safely ease indigestion, menstrual cramps, motion sickness, and heartburn. Isn’t it amazing that a spice we take for granted to give our foods a warm, deliciously spicy flavor can contain so many healing properties?

Celery Juice

The ultimate healing food when juiced, the mineral salts in celery juice are incredibly powerful. They are absorbed by your white blood cells as fuel and used as an offense mechanism, not just defense. Your entire body’s immune system is boosted through the power of specific mineral salts in celery juice. Celery juice is so beneficial Anthony devoted a whole book to the topic.

Parsley

Parsley is the body’s ultimate alkalizer – it can alkalize the entire body! Parsley has specialized mineral salts that bind to bad acids and drive them out of the body. Because of its incredible ability to alkalize, parsley is the ultimate cancer-fighting herb. It is also a powerhouse pathogen fighter and excellent for anything mouth-related as it stops the growth of microorganisms in the mouth. This makes parsley a great ally to your immune system!

With incredible vitamins and minerals, parsley is packed with nutrition. It is practically a wild food with an adaptogenic nature. When eaten, the strength of this herb gets passed on to the consumer.

With all of these incredible benefits (and so many more), who wouldn’t want to make this juice?

Lemon

Lemons contain bio-available vitamin c, naturally occuring electrolytes, mineral salts, flavinoids, and a decent amount of bio-available calcium. There is a good reason why lemon and limes are a staple addition to water in the Medical Medium Morning Cleanse; it is wonderful at helping your liver wake up and detoxify, and they have the ability to “wake up” your filtered water. They also drive toxins out of your liver and imparts it’s nutrients to boost the liver’s immune system- helping your liver take the “trash” it has colected during the night out in the morning.
