Here’s my healthy holiday cookies origin story: I got tired of going to holiday parties or birthday parties for my daughters and having to turn everything down.
The sad looks of disappointment in the eyes of the other bakers, moms, dads, and sometimes kids when I would decline to enjoy a special treat they have lovingly made eventually got me thinking…”Why don’t I take classic recipes and make them toxin-free and use healthier ingredients?”
And that’s what I did.
Healthy holiday cookies DO exist!
And these healthy holiday cookies taste great. I would never share these recipes with you if I didn’t believe they were delicious enough to win anyone over no matter how they eat.
Cookies are sort of like papayas: the only people who don’t love a good cookie are people who’ve never had a good cookie. A combination of beautiful pleasure, flavors, and spices make cookies one of the universally loved treats on the planet. I knew I had to create recipes that satisfied this craving for people around the world who weren’t ready to give up cookies when transitioning to a diet free from foods that weaken our health.
