Affordable Supplements A How To Guide Pin

Wondering why affordable supplements seem like a myth?

Are you concerned about increasing supplement costs?

You’re not alone. But don’t ditch your favorite brands just yet. There are a few important things to keep in mind when it comes to buying supplements.

I had a professor in university who used a phrase I still love to this day.

“I’ve learned this lesson for you already.”

She would tell us a story of a mistake she made and what she learned from it so that we, her students, would have the chance to avoid making the same mistake.

Here’s a lesson I’ve already learned for you: trying countless supplements that don’t work. I hope to prevent you from making the same mistakes I did.

Let me tell you about my supplement graveyard.

Early in my healing journey, when I was seeking answers and was desperate for solutions, I spent thousands and thousands of dollars on supplements that didn’t help.

Some of these supplements were completely useless, some barely helped, and some probably hurt me in the long run.

I ended up with major credit card debt because I refused to stay stuck with my symptoms and would try anything that sounded like it might help, even if it didn’t.

What I eventually learned as a client of Anthony William, the Medical Medium ®, and as an experienced practitioner who has supported over 10,000 individuals around the world is this:

When it comes to supplements, there is no substitute for quality.

I know that managing costs while on a healing path can be challenging.

My husband and I work very hard, and we are fortunate to love our work, but my family and I live a very simple life.

We don’t take long trips or splurge on expensive clothes. Much of our income goes to the best-quality foods and supplements we can access.

For many of us, after bills and groceries, it can feel like stocking up on necessary supplements takes up any leftover funds for an entire month or even multiple months.

I’ve written several blogs on finding ways to cut costs while healing. Check out 5 Tips for Healing on a Budget, Medical Medium on a Budget, How to Grow Your Own Potatoes, Growing Sprouts, and Top 5 Grow-At-Home Herbs for inspiration.

Today, I want to offer you guidance to help set your mind and your wallet at ease, specifically regarding supplements.

As many of my followers know, I have been around Medical Medium ® healing information and recommendations for over a decade.

I began as a private client of Anthony William, the Medical Medium ®, working to heal myself, and soon after became a practitioner, supporting clients worldwide.

When I first started following Anthony’s guidance, I can tell you that the initially recommended supplements were the best available in the market at the time.

Now, we’ve gained access to BETTER and HIGHER QUALITY supplement brands like Vimergy, which has been a game-changer for me and so many others. I need far fewer supplements now than I did before for the same level of effectiveness.

In other words, I’ve saved money. I buy less but heal more. Click To Tweet

There’s a common saying in the United States, “You get what you pay for.”

When buying a car or seeking out cleaning products for our home, buying the best available options often means higher costs.

What that cost translates to, though, is a longer life for whatever we’ve purchased. Fewer trips to the repair shop. Toxin-free products that cost more to make also cost more to buy, but it’s a worthy investment.

The cost of quality is part of the challenge when healing. The best clean, organic food often costs more unless we grow our own food or have a direct relationship with farmers we know.

The quality is worth the investment and often saves money in the long-term, even if, in the short-term, it feels like the cost of quality is burning a hole in our pockets.

I wish it was as simple as saying, “Taking one capsule of the best vitamin C is like taking two capsules of the SECOND best vitamin C”, but it’s more complex than that.

Taking more of a nutrient that isn’t as usable by your body isn’t the same as taking a small amount of a nutrient that is optimized to give your body exactly what it needs.

You may have to take four capsules of a decent vitamin C to equal the strength of one capsule of the best there is, but it still won’t quite match up.

This is why it’s so important to know how to get the most out of the supplements you choose to take, both for your healing and for your financial well-being.

When seeking ways to create an affordable supplements protocol, there are tips that can help you save while still accelerating your healing.

Read below for my top supplement-strengthening tips.

1) Take supplements with coconut water

This can as much as double the effectiveness of the supplements you’re taking. We know from Medical Medium information that coconut water is a perfect delivery system for nutrients in the body and enhances every healing food and supplement when consumed with coconut water. You can actually reduce your dosages and still enjoy healing benefits.

2) Take supplements with raw honey or another form of high-quality glucose

Medical Medium has also shared that nutrients are delivered into our cells via glucose. Taking your supplements with a spoonful of raw honey or stirred into pure fresh juice will maximize the delivery of nutrients into your organs and body.

3) Combining supplements with healing foods

In Thyroid Healing by Medical Medium, we are given a list of foods that actually enhance certain supplements.

Consider applying these food and supplement combinations to maximize the impact of any of these you may be taking to maximize the effects of your dosages.

These food combinations are designed for various aspects of healing sleep issues but are effective even without sleep concerns.

There are also easy ways to reduce costs when purchasing supplements, which I’ve outlined below for you.

Stock up during sales

Brands like Vimergy offer major sales a few times a year. Be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you know exactly when to build your supplement supply when prices are lower. Vimergy just finished their annual healing week sale, but they often do a sale later in the year as well. You can even reach out to their customer service team to ask when the next sale is scheduled!

Buy with friends

Buying in bulk often comes with a discounted price, and sometimes supplement brands will often have a larger discount if you buy multiple different supplements. Placing a large order with friends means increasing the volume of your order, which can maximize discounts.

Take advantage of new customer discounts

Many supplement brands or supplement distributor websites will offer a 5-10% discount to new customers. Get the most out of this first-time order by purchasing a large amount as you start.

A common question I receive is which lower-cost supplement brands I trust, and I’ve included a list further down in this post, but let’s dig into this question first.

While I completely understand this question and why people ask, there’s something I have to be clear about.

Nothing beats quality. Period.

As I said above, one capsule of the best magnesium glycinate is often better than two capsules of a decent magnesium glycinate.

A quarter-capsule of the best magnesium glycinate will be far better than ten capsules of the same supplement manufactured in ways that render the supplement lifeless.

Quality is truly everything. And when it comes to healing, supplements may mean the difference between overcoming symptoms or staying stuck.

With food, as long as we are not consuming genetically modified organisms (GMOs for short), we will still experience healing benefits.

A conventional tomato may not pack the healing punch of an organic heirloom tomato, but it will still pass on the healing gifts of the Earthly Mother and God. If it has not been chemically altered, it is still a whole food.

With supplements, there are hidden ingredients, fillers, questionable manufacturing processes, and other factors which differ from what we’re dealing with when buying fruits and vegetables.

We must be very careful with the supplements we put into our bodies.

This is not meant to cause fear, just to reinforce that awareness of why quality matters so much is crucial if we truly want to give our bodies the best we can.

This weekend, I’ll be sharing an Instagram post about the magnesium glycinate I recently ordered while Vimergy was out of stock and why quality truly is paramount when it comes to supplements.

I like the alternative brand I ordered from, and I trust their products, but the effects were completely different. I was taking 6-7 capsules and still not getting the effects of 2 Vimergy capsules.

I will also share in the post about a high dose of vitamin C I used to take to help my body cope with the chemicals my neighbor was spraying. I was taking 10 capsules twice a day from a good brand, and it did absolutely nothing to move the symptoms.

I switched to the same dosage of a better brand before Vimergy was on the market, and my symptoms shifted immediately. Now, I notice with Micro-C from Vimergy, that 2-3 capsules are all I need in similar situations.

It’s all about quality, which translates to effectiveness.

Below are brands of supplements I trust. Feel free to compare costs between them, but effectiveness is what matters most here.

And know that if you stray from this list, risks are involved with many supplement companies.

For a list of my preferred supplements, which includes products from all of the companies below, visit the supplements section in my Amazon store.

Vimergy is the best supplement brand available, hands-down. You can trust every product they sell, and it’s the only brand I buy for myself and my family for core healing supplements.

Pure Encapsulations
This is a great brand that has sold high-quality supplements for years. Depending on the supplement, you may require higher doses to move the needle than you would from Vimergy.

Gaia Herbs
Gaia Herbs is a wonderful company that has been around for years, specializing in healing herbal supplements. I recommend many of their products, especially those that Vimergy does not carry.

Hawaii Pharm
Hawaii Pharm carries many effective herbal tinctures that are also alcohol-free, but be sure to read labels as you browse because some do contain alcohol and other fillers.

Global Healing Center
The original vitamin B12 and iodine supplements that Medical Medium used to recommend are produced by this company, and their B12 is still a good backup option. I would be cautious of other products, be sure to read every label, and ask your intuition and the Angel of Truth if you can trust other products.

Nature’s Answer
I love this company and have relied on many of its herbal remedies and tinctures for years.

Eclectic Herbs
Another great herbal healing producer that has a fantastic line of supplements for children.

This world is tough. We are surrounded by stress-inducing circumstances. Do your best not to let your healing protocol become a source of fear and stress.

This is easier said than done. Believe me, I know.

Between food prep, feeling like the odd on out, planning ahead for EVERYTHING, having flare-ups, and handling work obligations alongside everyday stress, it’s not easy to focus on healing.

Just remember you always have options available to you to make things more manageable.

You can always rely more on healing foods, which may be more affordable, and treat them as supplements.

Mashing raw garlic and/or raw onion into raw honey is a low-cost but powerful immune support that can fill the gap for you if Micro-C or zinc are out of your budget temporarily.

You can see Medical Medium Brain Shot Therapies as a supplement-level strength support as well.

As we see in the story of Nirmal, a healing warrior and former member of the Intuitive Healing Community, simple, low-cost tools applied consistently over time can bring healing. Read more in my blog telling Nirmal’s story here.

Success while healing is not about doing everything possible or everything perfectly. Click To Tweet

I would much prefer that you take a lower quantity of the best supplements you can access than putting yourself through huge amounts of financial stress to take higher dosages.

It’s okay to work within your budget. There is no race to the finish line when it comes to healing.

Stay grounded in what is possible for you without causing overwhelm and make peace with where you are. Money comes and goes, and your financial situation can always improve.

Know that I’m here to support you, and so is the broader community. You’re not alone with any of these concerns, and so many people know exactly how you feel.

What I want for you most is to heal, and I know that’s what you want too.

Don’t cheat yourself out of the best opportunity to regain your health by jumping to a cheaper brand so quickly that you actually waste money and precious time in the long run.

To your health and peace,

  1. Sarah McGaffey

Thank you for this post . I have had to drastically cut back in my supplements.keeping b 12 and zinc melatonin and l lysine from vimergy but cutting back how much we take and doing teas instead of tinctures. Lots of raw garlic.

    1. My pleasure, Sarah, and you’re spot on. Supplements are a lifeline, but powerful healing foods can almost act as a cheap supplement due to their healing power. Raw garlic is a Godsend, as are aromatic herbs, wild foods, powerful herbal teas like licorice and nettle, and many more. Sounds like you’re doing all the right things including keeping your mindset healthy while working with what you’re able to sustain for now. Keep going, girl! – Muneeza

  2. Hi Muneeza,
Thank you for this blog post – it is just what I needed to hear. I would love to incorporate coconut water with my supplements. How long do you think I can keep the coconut water after opening (when planning to only drink a little with supplements each day)?

    1. Hi Aenne, so glad this is helpful for you. Fresh coconut water (that isn’t pink or red) should keep in the fridge for 2-3 days. If you notice that the color is becoming darker and cloudy instead of clear, or pink or reddish, it’s time to throw the rest away. Try to find smaller containers to take with supplements instead of the 1 liter sizes if you intend to use just a small amount with each supplement. I hope this helps! – Muneeza

  3. I look for BOTH quality and affordability. There are many brands that sell expensive supplements but are still bad quality so you can’t assume just because something is expensive that it has to be good quality. Some companies just want to maximize profits especially well known brands that spend a lot on marketing and professional brands that market products to physicians and holistic and functional medicine practitioners and offer them a commission for selling their products.

Many of Global Healing Center’s products contain guar gum or acacia gum in their list of added ingredients.

Nature’s Answer has a lot of products that contain Proposition 65 warnings which can be a red flag for toxin or heavy metal contamination.

    1. Absolutely, Ty. It’s so important to read every label and only choose the best products from good brands as virtually no brands (other than Vimergy) sell ONLY clean products. It’s just a fact of this world. Thanks for your guidance here to help encourage others to double check EVERY product before buying! And contact the brands if in doubt! – Team Muneeza

  4. Great article. Question medical medium used to recommend The brand Throne for some supplements. What do you think about those?

i’ve been hesitant to continue with pure encapsulation since Nestlé took it over. Supposedly nothing was supposed to change, but I don’t trust then as a company. I wasn’t sure if you or medical medium have revisited their supplements to ensure nothing has changed.

    1. Hi Sirena, thanks so much for your comment. There are specific supplements produced by certain brands that are great and helpful! We’ve stuck to a few brands that Muneeza has relied on for a variety of products for this article, but anything MM recommends is of course great (as long as we stick to the specific products he highlights or contact the company to ask about others). It’s true that Nestlé buying several supplement brands is cause for thoughtfulness, but for the time being Pure Encapsulations continues to be of good quality and recommended by MM in several cases. That may change with time, but for now we still trust many of their products as an alternative and/or supplement to Vimergy products. We hope this helps!

  5. Currently super stressed, having run out of most supplements and still dealing with effects of c virus on top of all the historical stuff from decades of ebv..I know of several supplements I would love to be using yet have no funds. I am even out of lysine, cats Claw, ashwaganda, propolis.the things I rely on to keep viral numbers low and adrenals up.
Then there is the anxiety and depression that have become constant state.
Thanks for the spot to put my concerns.

    1. Mindy, so sorry it feels like a struggle right now. We truly understand, and we’re glad you feel you have a safe space to vent. You can still heal and support your immune system – focus on healing foods which are more affordable. One large bag of organic licorice root can last a month and cost half of what a tincture does, and it’s one of the most powerful anti-virals available to us. Bring in ginger-turmeric-garlic-orange juice shots regularly, increase your aromatic herbs in salads, dinners, teas, etc, and good raw honey will have many healing benefits even if you can’t afford the propolis for now. Hang in there, and know that you can still find what you need. “God is my shepherd, I shall not want.” – Team Muneeza

  6. Thank you Muneeza. This is very informative and helpful information. Vimergy is my first choice, then Nature’s Answer, followed by Pure Encapsulations. I have seen the difference Vimergy and healing foods alone have made on my healing journey, with your guidance. Many blessings and thanks for all you do as you continue to serve and help hundreds of us. Hugs 😊

    1. So glad you found this helpful, Frances, sounds like you’ve got a great set up with your brand loyalty. Quality really is so important, and it’s my honor to support you with any helpful guidance! Many blessings to you and yours!!! – Muneeza
