When you follow Medical Medium® protocols and read Anthony William’s books and blogs, you know that cleansing heavy metals from the body is SO vital to your health. Unfortunately, we are exposed to heavy metals such as mercury, lead, and aluminum every day, and our body stores these metals in fat cells. This toxicity can lead to serious neurological and autoimmune illness in addition to other diseases.
Fortunately, cleansing and detoxing your body of heavy metals is not nearly as difficult as you
may think. The solution to cleansing and detoxing lies in an herb you probably have in your kitchen or herb garden right now. I’m talking about cilantro!
Cilantro is a Top 10 Medical Medium® Superfood for many reasons. It supports digestive health, the spleen, adrenals, thyroid, pancreas, and lungs – while raising HDL cholesterol (the good stuff) and lowering LDL cholesterol (the bad stuff). This brightly-flavored herb is an incredible source for:
• Antioxidants – more than most fruits and vegetables
• Vitamins A, C, and K
• Minerals, including iron, calcium, and magnesium
• Dodecenal – a natural antibiotic compound that can heal and prevent salmonella, poisoning and other bacterial illnesses
And most importantly, cilantro is amazing at removing heavy metals from the body. Aluminum, mercury, and other metals store in the fat tissues where it can harm the brain and central nervous system. Cilantro allows your body to rapidly separate the mercury and heavy metals from the fat tissues and send it to the gut, where it can be flushed from the body! How magical is that?
Spirit told Anthony William that cilantro can also benefit a wide variety of health issues and symptoms. If you suffer from the following ailments, eating cilantro can help tremendously.
• Neurological disease, including Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease
• Arthritis
• Diabetes
• Viral and bacterial infection
• Hepatitis
• Colitis
• Infertility
• Bell’s Palsy
• Fibromyalgia
• Addison’s Disease
• Guillain-Barre Syndrome
• IBS
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
To make the most out of Medical Medium® protocols, Anthony recommends eating one bunch of cilantro per day for maximum benefit. Juicing one bunch of cilantro is the easiest method to ingest a large quantity, and for a double dose of superfood, add a bit of spirulina. You can also add cilantro to savory recipes, smoothies, salads, and salsas. If you find the flavor of cilantro unpleasant or soapy, you can purchase cilantro tinctures or extracts from health food stores.
For a delicious treat that is packed with nutritional benefits and features cilantro, try this amazing Medical Medium® recipe for Guacamole. This recipe can be found in the eBook, 10 Super Healing Foods, by Anthony William.
My kids love guacamole. However, the other most amazing way to enjoy this herb, is to juice 1 cup of cilantro with 1 cup of pineapple or any other fruit juice of your liking. My daughters will inhale pineapple-cilantro juice in a HOT SECOND and their mama too!

I wanted to make the thyroid healing smoothie that Medical Medium recommends and I did not have fresh cilantro on hand, but I had dried. Is dried OK? How do the benefits of it change when dried?
Hi Shannon! Because cilantro is one of the suggested added ingredients for the thyroid healing smoothie, it is not required every time. If you are choosing to add cilantro fresh is much better! When dried, the living water and other nutrients in cilantro are not present or not as effective. If only dried is available you can add it to receive some of the healing benefit, but fresh is recommended. We hope this is helpful!
If you can’t get fresh cilantro due to being in lockdown with this virus thing going on, what would be a good replacement? Finding a tincture?
Yes, you can use the tincture recommended on the Medical Medium supplement page when you cannot access fresh cilantro.
Hello Muneeza,
would it be still ok to replace cilantro with cilantro sprouts/microgreens?
Yes, that would help but not as effective as mature cilantro.
I can’t stand the taste of cilantro. I know you mention using it in tincture form. Does anyone know if the tincture is as strong as real cilantro? I don’t want to buy it and be in the same boat as I’m in now.
I have ordered and use the tincture for my family, who cannot stand the taste. They don’t even notice it! Lifesaver
Samantha, that is a great way to get them started but do move towards fresh cilantro because otherwise its not quite as potent (almost 6 times less)
I can’t stand the taste of cilantro. Does the tincture taste like the strong flavor of cilantro when added to juice or a smoothie? I’m trying to find a way to get it in with my heavy metal detox month.
I too use cilantro on everything….Fried noodles….sauted veggies…smoothies
Do you have any idea if I can give cilantro to my puppy? I know she needs to detox from heavy metals!!!
I love cilantro!! Awesome article. Thank you!
