Lemon Artichokes Recipe with Total Immune Blend

Lemon artichokes are a fat-free healing recipe made by steaming whole artichokes with lemon, then dipping them in a bright citrus sauce built around Total Immune Blend, a tincture that supports the liver, thyroid, and immune system.

Key Takeaways

  • Lemon artichokes are a fat-free healing recipe made by steaming whole artichokes with lemon rind and cut lemons for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • The dipping sauce blends lime juice, orange juice, raw honey, garlic powder, and Total Immune Blend, added only after blending so it never touches heat.
  • Artichoke hearts contain phytochemical compounds studied for their role in supporting thyroid hormone production and for nodules, cysts, and tumors.
  • Artichokes are rich in minerals like silica and support the liver’s screening and filtering work.
  • Total Immune Blend combines thyme, mullein, and liquid zinc sulfate, three ingredients tied to immune support and liver calming.
  • Raw honey and garlic add antiviral and antibacterial properties that benefit the thyroid and the immune system.
  • The recipe makes enough sauce for 6 large or 10 mini artichokes and takes about 20 minutes of active cooking.

Why Lemon Artichokes Are a Healing Meal

Every time I make artichokes for family or friends, someone asks me the same question: “How do you even eat these?” I understand why. They can look a little intimidating at first, spiky and unfamiliar, and it isn’t obvious where to begin. But once you know what to do with them, they turn out to be one of the simplest things to prepare. And considering how healing they are for the liver and thyroid, they are absolutely worth getting comfortable with. This lemon artichoke recipe has become one of my favorite ways to enjoy them because it keeps everything simple and lets the artichokes shine. The bright lemon sauce comes together in just a few minutes and complements them beautifully. And because I stir the Total Immune Blend right into the sauce, a simple plate of artichokes becomes so much more healing, an easy way for my whole family to take in the nutrients they need. Also, if you’re fat free, this meal is very filling and satisfying.

How to Make Lemon Artichokes

Steaming the Artichokes

I steam the artichokes in a pan with lemon rind and lots of cut lemons. This allows the flavor of the lemon to really get into them, and the lemon does double duty here, because it also keeps them from browning while they cook. I cook them for about 15 to 20 minutes, stirring gently.

Making the Lemon Artichoke Sauce

Then I make the sauce. I add lime, orange juice, honey, Total Immune Blend, and garlic powder into my blender and blend until smooth. I love adding Total Immune Blend to my culinary creations. It’s the same tincture I used in my Herbed Potatoes recipe. I love the herby thyme flavor, and it goes so well with so many savory dishes. A quick note before you start: the tincture should never touch heat. I add the Total Immune Blend once the sauce is blended and keep it away from anything hot, so it holds on to all of its healing properties. Once the artichokes are ready, peel, dip, and enjoy.

Why These Healing Foods Matter

Artichokes and the Thyroid

Artichokes are one of the most supportive vegetables for the thyroid.Pin
Artichokes are one of the most supportive vegetables for the thyroid. Their hearts contain unique phytochemical compounds that support thyroid hormone production while also helping the body deal with nodules, cysts, and tumors. According to Anthony William, “there are so many undiscovered compounds in artichokes that work for your thyroid,” including antioxidants and amino acids that support the thyroid and help protect it from the pathogens he identifies as underlying thyroid disease (Anthony William’s research on thyroid-healing foods).

Artichokes and the Liver

Artichokes are also deeply supportive of the liver. They contain compounds it relies on for screening and filtering, and they help the body deal with growths inside the organ. Their benefits go further than most people realize, too. Anthony William describes artichokes as “dense with minerals such as silica,” one of the body’s foundational minerals (Anthony William’s writing on healing artichokes). That mineral density is a big part of why artichokes are so supportive for organs like the liver, spleen, pancreas, and thyroid.

Lemon, Lime, and Honey

Lemon and lime also bring healing benefits to this recipe. Medical Medium information teaches that they support digestion by strengthening the stomach’s hydrochloric acid, help cleanse the liver, and deliver mineral salts the body puts to use right away. Raw honey is one of the best foods for refueling the thyroid. It delivers the glucose the thyroid relies on and carries antiviral properties along with zinc, which matters, since so many thyroid conditions are tied to viral activity.

Garlic and Total Immune Blend

Garlic works on the same front. It’s strongly antiviral and antibacterial, helping the body push back against the pathogens that burden the thyroid and liver to begin with. Total Immune Blend brings together thyme, mullein, and liquid zinc sulfate in one easy tincture. Thyme is one of the most powerful antiviral herbs available. Mullein helps the body clear excess mucus and calms and cleanses the liver. And zinc is one of the most important minerals for the immune system, one that most people are quietly deficient in since the body burns through its zinc reserves so quickly. Total Immune Blend also adds a beautiful savory flavor to this sauce. The thyme pairs especially well with the brightness of the citrus and the mild, gentle flavor of the artichokes.

Instructions

For the artichokes:

  • Place the artichokes in a pan with the lemon rind and cut lemons.
  • Steam for about 15–20 minutes, stirring gently, until tender.

For the sauce:

  • Add lime juice, orange juice, honey, Total Immune Blend, and garlic powder to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • To finish: Once the artichokes are ready, peel the leaves, dip into the sauce, and enjoy.

Notes

  • The lemon does double duty here, it flavors the artichokes and helps keep them from browning while they cook.
  • Add the Total Immune Blend to the sauce after cooking, never into anything hot. This helps preserve the healing properties of the tincture.
How to now when the artichokes are ready:
  • Gently grab one of the outer leaves near the middle of the artichoke.
  • If it pulls away easily with just a gentle tug, the artichoke is done.
  • If you have to really pull or the leaf tears instead of coming out, it needs more time.
  • Add more cooking time for large globe artichokes.

A Healing Meal You’ll Actually Want to Eat

A healing meal only works if people actually want to eat it. What I love about these steamed artichokes is that the lemon and garlic carry the whole dish; there’s nothing medicinal about the sauce at all. You pull off a leaf, dip it, and what you taste is bright, fresh, and clean. It’s simply good food that also happens to be deeply healing.

This is a wonderful recipe whenever you’re craving something fresh and deeply nourishing, a meal that’s light, satisfying, and full of healing foods. It’s simple enough for a weekday lunch, yet special enough to serve when friends or family come over.

If you give it a try, tag me on Facebook or Instagram. I love seeing your healing meals.

To your peace and happiness,

Muneeza

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The sauce still works with just lime juice, orange juice, honey, and garlic powder if you don’t have Total Immune Blend on hand. You’ll lose some of the added thyme and mullein support, but the dish stays bright and satisfying.

Yes, the sauce keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in a sealed container. Add the Total Immune Blend fresh each time you serve it rather than storing it pre-mixed, since the tincture is best used soon after blending.

Yes. Neither the artichokes nor the sauce use any added oil or fat, which is part of why the dish still feels filling and satisfying on its own from the natural sugars in the honey and citrus.
