A compote is a French dessert made with whole or pieces of fruit with sugar syrup. My wild blueberry compote is a Medical Medium® friendly version of this sweet treat.
On my blog, I switch out a lot of fruit compote recipes with healthier (unrefined sugar) versions, which are naturally delicious!
The wild blueberry has a lot of natural pectin, which acts like an emulsifier and so you don’t need to add anything else to this recipe! It is made entirely of healing foods.
Wild Blueberries
I absolutely love wild blueberries! They have such a bright, sweet flavor and a vivid color; they truly dress up any meal they are added to whether to a fresh salad, a warm breakfast, or even yummy smoothies. They’re an excellent snack on their own, too, and make a great afternoon snack when paired with some almonds or coconut milk yogurt.
What makes the wild blueberry even better is they are part of Medical Medium® Top 10 Superfoods because they are absolutely packed with health benefits that range from preventing cancer to slowing the aging process to even supporting eye health!
Wild Blueberries are:
- Loaded with powerful antioxidants and flavonoids
- An excellent source of fiber
- A great source of Vitamin C and K
- An incredible way to get manganese, lutein, and gallic acid
Because the wild blueberry is so full of antioxidants, vitamins, and nutrients, scientists are busy researching their positive healing effects on brain activity, gut health, heart disease, and many other diseases and illnesses!
We know the antioxidants combat free radical cellular growth, which supports overall health in addition to preventing cancer, autoimmune disease, and other serious chronic health concerns. We know the fiber in wild blueberries supports vascular and digestive health, and the vitamins K and C support immune health.
The wild blueberry is also a vital component to detoxing and cleansing your body. This delicious superfood cleanses the liver, allowing your body to flush toxins from your system.
For anyone struggling with the following health issues, add wild blueberries into your diet to support healing from the following issues:
- Inflammation
- Cancer
- Slow the effects of aging
- Diabetes
- Eye health and vision concerns
- Digestive illness
- Autoimmune disorder

Maple Syrup
The combination of minerals and glucose in maple syrup makes it vital to the liver – an instant fuel source.
“It’s like an IV for the liver containing the best of both worlds: a vast array of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients (many of them still undiscovered) coupled with high-quality sugar on which the liver thrives.”
Anthony William, Liver Rescue
Cinnamon
Cinnamon has the highest antioxidant strength of all food sources – far exceeding that of any fruit or vegetable. This potent spice has been known to help shorten the duration of the flu and get rid of congestion and mucus from the body. Additionally, it can help stop yeast infections, candida, and menstrual cramps.
Cinnamon has excellent anti-cancer properties and has been shown to help reduce the growth of leukemia and lymphoma cells within the body.
The smell of cinnamon alone can help make you more alert and focused, as it boosts memory and cognitive function.
