I have been around the unstoppable power of women my whole life. Yet so many women have no idea just how powerful they are.
I have three younger sisters, lots of girlfriends, my mother who raised me, my grandmothers, aunts, mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law. I serve primarily women in my work and am a mother to three girls.
In my work, I speak to women daily who doubt themselves, wonder if they are good enough, think they are imposters, struggle and are overwhelmed, and do not believe they are lovable or worthy of praise.
If you ask me, the most pervasive chronic condition amongst women worldwide is unworthiness.
Throughout my four decades on this planet, I have also witnessed that women are strong, powerful, intuitive, lead from the heart, nurturing, and pretty badass. Most of the women I know could run circles around the world’s most “powerful” men.
MY DEEPEST PASSION
What I’ve discovered while serving thousands of people in three different careers is that working to empower women is my most profound passion.
What inspires me the most is the strength of women: women who survive and thrive against all odds, women who work three jobs to make ends meet, take care of their kids and raise them well, heal themselves from chronic illness, and overcome being bedridden.
Some women study on the side to establish a second career while juggling packed schedules, women reenter the dating world after a prolonged illness, and women overcome societal messages that they are not good enough or worthy of success. Each of these takes immense courage and strength. Women do miraculous things every day.
My grandmother worked as a full-time teacher and maintained her job and independence. Most Muslim women born in the 1920s in India were not working full-time jobs, caring for their families, and maintaining social life and home. It was not the norm for her generation.
My mother fought for her girls to get master’s level education before they were married and settled. I have been surrounded by the strength and power of women and what’s possible when they fight for what they believe is right.
THE POWER OF WOMEN
To all the women out there, what I want to convey more than anything is this:
- You are powerful
- You are worthy
- You are capable of more than you know
- You deserve to be happy, healthy, and fulfilled
- You are loved
There are no conditions attached to those statements. Whether you’re homeless or a billionaire – a waitress or a princess – each is true.
If you’ve been sick for years and are punishing yourself for not being more present for your children, read these words and let them sink in. You haven’t given up because you’re here reading these words. You are stronger than you realize. It’s time to give yourself the credit you deserve.
If you’ve been trying every day to move closer to a career that fulfills you instead of just paying the bills, read these words and let them fuel your search for that purpose-filled opportunity that God has in store for you.
I don’t care who you are; these words are for you. This message is for you. I am here to tell you that you are a miraculous combination of qualities and abilities and that, whether you know it or not, just by being here on this planet, you are changing the world.
WE GROW STRONGER TOGETHER
Women are world-changers. We lead our families into new ways of thinking, praying, eating, and relating. We envision what’s possible, and we strive for it. When empowered, we are unmatched in our ability to build powerful communities in solidarity with both women and men. And we are always stronger together.
On this International Women’s Day, I encourage you to find another woman in your life to lift up. Shower praise on a woman you admire – make sure she knows how she inspires you.
I do my best to serve as many people as possible in my work, but I am especially committed to serving women.
Whether I’m focused on my Revival program to teach women about puberty, fertility, pregnancy, birth, hormones, menopause, and more, or I’m leading one of my virtual retreats like the Nourish Your Feminine Power retreat I created earlier this year, building up other women fuels me to do all that I do in the world.
If you’re interested in learning more about Revival, click below to sign up for our Revival waiting list. We will launch in late April, and can’t wait to connect with and empower more women.
Don’t ever diminish your strength.
Whether you are up at sunrise, getting ready to spend another day chasing your dreams, building a business, raising a family, or living on mattress island wondering when you can feel the sun on your skin again, you are powerful.
If you are sick, the power it takes to persevere through another day with symptoms is massive. Your will to not just survive but recover your health and reclaim your God-given right to live a fulfilling life has ripple effects that you may never fully see.
While it’s more common in our society to celebrate women who accomplish worldly success in some form, it’s essential to recognize the everyday examples of strength we find all around us, especially in those women who are more vulnerable.
From single mothers keeping their kids fed and clothed, to grocery store workers who find a way to light up the day of strangers, to sisters who give up everything to be there for each other, to daughters who heal from childhood trauma and create a better life for their kids, the power of women is endlessly diverse.
What can you celebrate about your strength today and this weekend? How can you shine a light on how you are changing the world simply by not giving up or giving in to doubts and fears?
You, sister, are strong and powerful. Never let anyone or anything convince you of anything else.
Happy International Women’s Day! Let’s celebrate this day, ourselves, and each other in every possible way.
To your health and peace,
Muneeza
