Japanese Ginger Dressing
Do you still crave some of the foods you loved before you changed your eating habits and left troublemaker foods behind?
It can sometimes feel like moving to a healing lifestyle means giving up all our favorite meals, but that’s not necessarily true. I go into detail about grieving our former diets and how to create exciting new meal options in my blog, Giving Up Your Favorite Foods: Is It Forever?
With a little creativity, we can often create healthy recipes that satisfy any craving. It’s all about finding ways to create the right texture using fresh, whole-food ingredients.
That’s why I absolutely love this homemade dressing. It’s fat-free and packed with nutrition, but it does not leave anything out when it comes to flavor. Every time I whip up this dressing for a meal at home, I’m transported back to my favorite Japanese restaurants, where I would always gobble up the salad just so I could enjoy the light, delicious, fresh dressing that was served!
I hope you’ll enjoy this easy-to-make dressing as much as I do. Recipes like this one never make me feel like I’m missing out. They pack even more flavor than the restaurant recipes they’re inspired by and without any harmful ingredients.
GINGER
Ginger is an ancient medicinal food that has been used to aid in digestion for millennia. Have you ever been on a boat in choppy waters? Most passenger ships have a healthy stock of ginger capsules and candies to help alleviate nausea – one of ginger’s many healing benefits.
Ginger has its own signature form of vitamin C, which benefits all body systems. Ginger also contains gingerols, which are potent anti-inflammatory compounds that can act as a natural pain reliever. Ginger is also an immune-supportive powerhouse.

CARROTS
High in beta-carotene, carrots rejuvenate the skin, hair, and eyes. Carrots offer the liver a readily available source of glucose attached to minerals and vitamins. When carrots are eaten raw, they’re higher in antiseptic phytochemical compounds that inhibit the growth of unfriendly microorganisms.
ONION
Onions are well known for their powerful immune-supporting ability, helping to reduce the progress of cancers, chronic infections, asthma, and virtually all pathogen-caused illnesses.
Onions also help remove radiation from the body, prevent blood clots, and balance blood sugar issues, thereby helping to resolve type 2 diabetes. They also help regrow lost hair and bring a healthy shine to existing hair.
If you’re ever eating out and are concerned that your food may have been exposed to harmful bacteria, ask for a helping of raw onion to enjoy with your meal. Raw onions have powerful antibacterial properties that help protect you from foodborne illness and purify the digestive tract.
