I know you are always on the quest for healthy foods and options, and boy do I have a treat in store for you today!
I am sharing the most amazing (and healthy, goes without saying) chocolate sauce recipe, just in time for Easter.
Most people are going to eat chocolate and I would highly recommend sourcing out some healthy chocolate, especially if you have children. I always say any food in the junk world can be made healthier, you just have to work a little harder and (probably) make it yourself.
However, in the case of chocolate, I have a very special offer for you, where you will not have to make your own healthy chocolate. You will have to read until the end though!
I am sharing here what is one of our FAVORITE chocolate dipping and topping sauce and it is so simple and easy to make!
Muneeza’s favorite Chocolate Sauce
Ingredients:
1 cup raw cacao
1 cup maple syrup
1 tsp mesquite powder
1 cup coconut oil
1 pinch sea salt
1 tsp pure Vanilla powder
Method:
Mix the raw cacao, maple syrup and melted coconut oil in a bowl with a hand whisk. When well blended with no lumps, add the mesquite powder and the sea salt and your sauce is ready. If you put it in the fridge, it will harden with the coconut oil, but stays fine out at room temperature. If you live in a colder climate, it still may harden a little at room temperature but not all the way. It can be warmed easily if placed near a warm oven or stove, but not on direct heat.

Fantastic to see this recipe for a healthier chocolate sauce. Thank you! Is there any caffeine in raw cacao? Or is it at an amount that is not of concern for sensitive bodies?
Jea, yes, there is caffeine in raw cacao. I don’t ever recommend consuming foods with caffeine on a regular basis, but for a one off celebration or special event, it can be a wonderful treat. There are those who cannot even consume it sparingly, in which case it should be avoided.
Thank you for sharing this with us! My daughters will be super happy to have this over their fruit (instead of honey) on Easter as a special treat!
Justyna I am happy to share!!! Yes, a little chocolate sauce changes everything!
Thank you for posting this Muneeza. 🙂
Jodie – you are very welcome! Enjoy!
You told me Miyokoskitchen is out…But what source did you find that’s better?
Maryann – try Tree line nut cheese or kite hill – they do not have nutritional yeast.
