The Incredible Healing Benefits of Fresh Ginger

The Incredible Healing Benefits of Fresh Ginger

One of my favorite spices to use is freshly grated ginger – it’s incredibly versatile, I can add it to sweet or savory dishes, soups, or drinks, and the warm spicy flavor just adds so much depth to a recipe. The best thing about ginger is not the flavor, though. It’s actually, just as versatile as a medicinal spice and has so many benefits that it is a Medical Medium® Top 10 Superfood!

Ginger has been used since ancient times for its healing properties. Originally cultivated in China, it became popular in Southeast Asia and India for medicinal purposes before being brought to Europe in the First Century. Ginger was used for whole healing – the body, mind, and spirit – and was thought to awaken and purify.  It’s amazing that ancient healers knew what so many of us ignore today – that ginger is a powerful, natural healing spice that boosts the immune system and has incredible antibiotic properties. Ginger is so powerful, it can heal infections and, also provide relief from dozens of serious health conditions and their symptoms. If you struggle with chronic inflammation, arthritis, or muscle and joint pain, consuming ginger can provide wonderful healing and relief.

Ginger contains powerful anti-inflammatory compounds called gingerols that reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling.

While ginger is an amazing spice that naturally heals both inflammation and infection, ginger is best known for its incredible ability to heal digestive upset and nausea. For centuries, ginger has been used to safely ease indigestion, menstrual cramps, motion sickness, and heartburn. Pregnant women who are suffering from the effects of morning sickness can safely soothe the unpleasant symptoms of nausea and queasiness with ginger and receive much-needed relief!  Isn’t it amazing that a spice we take for granted to give a warm, deliciously spicy flavor to our foods can contain so many healing properties?

Anthony William recommends adding fresh ginger to your diet to receive the most health benefits. He suggests juicing it with apple and celery to create a delicious beverage that will boost your immune health while energizing and invigorating you.

If you struggle with the following illnesses or health concerns, or you hope to prevent them, start adding this Medical Medium® Superfood to your daily diet!

– E. coli infection
– Staph infection
– Nausea
– Indigestion
– Heartburn
– Migraine
– Colds & Flu
– Menstrual cramps
– Arthritis
– Inflammation
– Joint and muscle pain

Ginger does have a very strong flavor that some people may find too overwhelming, especially when it is raw. Fortunately, you can get ginger in teas, capsules, tinctures, and extracts at most health food stores, so you can still get the incredible benefits of this healing spice.

I want to include this simple, delicious, Medical Medium® recipe for ginger tea. This recipe can be found in the eBook, 10 Super Healing Foods, by Anthony William. Adding fresh lemon and honey not only improves the taste, it also adds so much immune-boosting power!

Drink this during the winter months for a warming drink that will help you stay free of colds and flu.

Medicinal Ginger Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1 – 2 inch piece of fresh, raw ginger
